3DESK selected for Hannover Messe

Come and visit our impressive demonstrator 3DESK in Hall 8, stand E30

Even in the post-Covid era, the Hannover Messe remains one of the leading international trade shows for the technology industry. It has therefore long been known as an important world forum for all things related to Industrie 4.0. This year, the fair returns for the first time and the project of Formando, Guaranteed and Flam3D has been selected to be part of the stand organised by Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT). Flam3D will be putting the regional AM landscape in the spotlight at this image stand.

This edition of the German fair will take place from 30 May to 2 June 2022. During 4 days, more than 5,000 exhibitors will present their latest technologies and services to some 200,000 visitors, offering solutions that respond to key industrial trends and challenges. With more than 1,400 events on site and 1,500 foreign speakers, it is clear that this is one of the most important international hotspots for industrial transformation with outstanding innovations or unusual products.

Of course Flam3D will not miss such an opportunity to put its members, and the 3D printing industry as a whole, in the spotlight on an international stage. The candidacy of the organisation to participate in the Flemish image stand with an impressive demonstrator was judged and accepted by a professional jury. The jury made a careful assessment based on a number of established selection criteria, such as the attractiveness of the demonstrator for visitors, the fact that the demo is focused on industrial applications or the presentation of a ‘state-of-the-art’ product that fits within the themes of the fair.

To meet the above expectations Formando and Guaranteed came up with the 3DESK: a demo desk to welcome visitors in the world of Additive Manufacturing (AM). Flam3D gladly jumped on the bandwagon as the 3DESK is an excellent instrument to demonstrate the goals of the organization. 3DESK is a unique combination of standard industry profiles and AM technologies using 3D printed parts with small and large dimensions. With the demonstrator, Flam3D wants to represent 3D printing and its members in the best possible way at the fair. “We want to show that 3D printing is a fantastic technique to make things exactly the way you want them, even for larger constructions like the 3DESK. People need to understand what it really means to be ‘custom made’!”, explains Robin Houben, Manager at Formando.

3D printed parts and products are now used for a wide range of applications and printed parts are rapidly finding their way into finished products. As various reports confirm, the Flemish-Dutch region is at the top of the world when it comes to R&D and production in AM. The potential of the technology certainly does not lie exclusively in the (export of) printed components and the knowledge, materials or software surrounding them. The true potential of the technology increasingly depends on its smart integration in an innovative (and therefore more competitive) manufacturing industry. Doing business in the manufacturing industry is about making the smartest combination of different technologies. 3DESK demonstrates this in a tangible way.  “We want people to stop and think to themselves, ‘Why did I design the same way over and over again?” explains Joachim Antonissen, Managing Director at Guaranteed.

“3DESK demonstrates only a few of the technologies and possibilities of Additive Manufacturing. There is much more to discover in the landscape, and among our members,” echoes Kris Binon, managing director of Flam3D. “We would love to engage with you at Hannover Messe to see how your business can be helped by 3D printing.”
