Building the technology of the future

Take part in Mikrocentrum’s 3D Printing courses

The global dynamics of the high tech and manufacturing industry are placing growing demands on the knowledge and skills of companies and employees. It is expected that Dutch and Belgian industry will increasingly distinguish itself in the future by developing high-quality new products and by using effective and efficient production processes. Product development is therefore occurring more and more in a multifunctional and multidisciplinary manner. This, in turn, will lead to an increase in the demand for higher skilled employees and the social innovation of delivering top performances as a team. Mikrocentrum, High Tech Platform and member of Flam3D, wants to support companies on their way to the technology of the future by being the meeting point for the high tech and manufacturing industry, getting the right people to meet each other and thinking along and ahead about how to develop and share knowledge.

As an independent knowledge and network organisation, Mikrocentrum has been supporting the high tech and manufacturing industry for over 50 years with Training, Events and Business. They offer 170 courses and annually organise 6 trade fairs, 5 business events and 15 theme meetings. In addition, they maintain the High Tech Platform, which has 600 members. In all their activities, the aim is to increase knowledge, expand networks, improve business processes and strengthen the competitive position of companies. Mikrocentrum does this by cooperating closely with a large network of industrial organisations, (semi-)authorities, knowledge and educational institutions. Also for 3D printing/ Additive Manufacturing they have a specific offer:

  • 2-day program: 3D printing in practice (10/11/2021)

During this course you will learn the differences and possibilities of 3D printing techniques, the design rules and especially the practical application of these. You will also discuss how to build business cases. The course starts with a day of general training, for both plastic and metal 3D printing, and ends with some practical examples. The practical examples serve as inspiration for day 2, for which you can propose cases yourself. These will be discussed during interactive sessions.

  • 5-day program with Aconity-3D and Xilloc Medical: Additive Manufacturing lab experience ( in-company)

After completion of this course you have a clear understanding of the production environment of Additive Manufacturing. The training starts with 2 intensive days of theory where the whole spectrum of 3D printing is explained. These 2 days serve as a foundation for the practical implementation which will take place on day 3 at Xilloc in Geleen and day 5 at Aconity3D Fraunhofer Research Institute in Aachen (GER). Through this approach, Mikrocentrum offers you a hands-on training. Moreover, you will be introduced to leading software solutions for data preparation. These solutions cover the complete process chain from converting a generated STL file to the cut supported machine data file. In addition, the start-up and unpacking of a metal Additive Manufacturing process is featured to learn more about the complete workflow of AM processes. The aim: to reduce the need for expensive tools. This course is taught in English.
