The printed house is a realisation of eight organisations from the academic and business world: Beneens, ETIB/CONCRETE HOUSE, Groep Van Roey, Thomas More, Trias architecten, Ugent and Vicré. It is part of the C3PO project, in which Saint-Gobain Weber also participates. Students ‘Construction’ at the Thomas More Hogeschool in Geel served the 3D concrete printer and printed the house at Kamp C in Westerlo.

Through the project Co-creation: 3D printing with enterprises (C3PO), the province of Antwerp, together with Kamp C, wants to accelerate the introduction of the innovative technique of 3D printing in the construction industry in Flanders. 3D printing in the construction industry is already on the rise in the rest of the world, but in Flanders it was still lagging behind. The C3PO project has to change that. The printed house, which is unique on a world scale, is a great step in this direction.
